Betty Watson is married to Robert (Butch) Watson. She moved to her mother’s hometown of Moncks Corner when she was 10, after her dad retired from the Navy. She attended public schools and USC, married her high school sweetheart and returned to Moncks Corner to raise their four children. Over 20 years ago, she began going weekly to the jail for Bible Study. CLM knew her heart’s desire for a women’s addiction program, so she welcomed the opportunity to serve on the Hannah House’s advisory team. Retirement was busy with family, crafts, reading and jail ministry, but she had time for more. She firmly believes she is involved where God is active and is humbled to be useful for kingdom work. Interesting fact about Betty: when she was a senior in high school, her and three other teenagers were stranded for 17 hours on Lake Moultrie. Everyone thought they had drowned. Afterwards, the Berkeley County Rescue Squad was organized and mobilized.
